The Lincoln Amphitheatre in Lincoln State Park sits empty. The 1,500-seat, roofed facility once hosted a musical,"Young Abe Lincoln."In 2007, the Indiana Legislature allocated $1.6 million to refurbish the magnificent amphitheatre and produce a new play. This new play will open in June of 2009 as part of our nation’s celebration of the bicentennial of Lincoln’s birth. Interested playwrights are asked to review the details at our website and contact us no later than January 7, 2008 with the requested information. Prefer to receive materials electronically

NO FEE, The Chautauqua Theater Company accepting submissions for summer 2008 New Play Workshop series. CTC is the resident professional theater and Conservatory of the renowned Chautauqua Institution in western New York. At Chautauqua, each week is given a theme around which the Institution’ s celebrated morning lecture series is oriented. CTC/NPW plays are chosen to reflect the theme of the week in which they are performed. While we don’t choose the themes, we are committed to finding plays that will engage with these ideas. The first 2008 workshop (July 7 to July 11) should correspond to the theme"On Writing"and the second (July 28 to August 1) should reflect on"Healing the Globe."
If you represent, are working on, or know of a new play that might be appropriate to our programming, please write.
