Rose and Ronnie are visiting New York City from their home on the bay in Wisconsin. Jessie is trying to get to work. They meet on a subway platform in the middle of the night. Jessie will eventually relent to their advances of friendship and even candy. But she will discover that Rose and Ronnie have come to the City for something very specific, and they're not leaving without her.
